Frank Shields, owner of Excavators Northwest, brings a unique perspective to our work due to years of experience in a wide variety of industries. He has worked climbing trees, in a mine in Colorado, in the tug and barge industry, as an EMT in a volunteer fire department, and as a crane operator before starting his own business. All of these different jobs gives Frank the ability to think outside the box when solving complex problems related to lifting a house, or structural repair of a foundation.
Chris Uyyek, as of now, the General Manager of Excavators Northwest has worked in our industry since 2019. She has taken over many of the duties of running the company and learned a great deal about our industry. Prior to working at Excavators Northwest, she ran every aspect of her family's wholesale distribution business for ten years. She has similar interests in helping people, growing our team, preserving historic buildings, and molding our company to be the premier foundation experts in the region.
Trust is what matters in any project. We work hard to earn your trust with our actions -- from the first contact to inquire about working with us, to when we finish up the punch list at the end of the job. We bring decades of experience in our specialized field of knowledge, as well as in problem-solving, to give you the best outcome possible. We will fight for you during the design process, using our knowledge to simplify the design where it's possible and save you money. We work to be pro-active with our communication throughout the construction process, and when the unexpected inevitably happens, we work with you to find a solution that is fair for everyone. Anyone can make promises, but it takes a company with integrity to follow through and take care of you throughout the project.
Our philosophy at Excavators Northwest is that everyone can do all aspects of the job. A general laborer on our team gets to operate equipment, help position the lifting beams, run the hydraulic lifting controls or do anything else that you display the desire and aptitude to learn. Likewise, an equipment operator or a driver doesn't sit on their piece of equipment all day. You get in shoulder-to-shoulder and do manual labor with the rest of the crew. Even management pitches in to help when needed. Frank often works alongside the crew on our complicated jobs.
As you can see from our website, no job is ever the same. You will get the opportunity to learn skills that few other construction workers will ever learn. If you display the desire and ability to grow, the sky is the limit. We promote from within, and will give you as much responsibility as you can handle. Our current crew is a force to be reckoned with -- they have come together to produce quality work in less time than we budget to do the job. As they continue to bring their A-Game, we reward our workers generously for their hard work and dedication. You would have the opportunity to challenge yourself as a part of this team.
Has at least two years of experience with project management in residential construction. Has at least five years of experience in project management and/or the construction industry.
Duties will include:
In this job, you will be taking over from the sales team to guide the job to completion. You will be the main point of contact for our customers during the construction process, so the ability to remain positive, calm and diplomatic in any situation is a must. You won't be tied to a desk -- you'll be out on the jobsite frequently as a vital part of coordinating the project.
From time to time, you will be able to telecommute, but otherwise, expect to be in an office, or out on the jobsite. We are willing to train a person who meets the minimum experience requirements, but needs more specific training for what we do. Your role will be a key part of helping our company grow to the next level.
Has a Class A CDL to be able to drive our dump truck and tow our equipment trailers. In addition to driving, you would be operating heavy equipment such as excavators, skid steer loaders and walk-behind loaders. You will be learning all aspects of house lifting and foundation work -- from underpinning, to building new foundations under existing houses. You will learn about rigging, handling steel beams, excavation, shoring, driving pipe piles, waterproofing, drainage work, concrete forming, and slab work.
